About the Artist

For 16 years I have been the owner of a contemporary fine art gallery. I am also a professional artist. Being a painter, as well as a business woman is extremely demanding. The creative side of my mind must give way to analytical side in order to succeed in this business and visa versa. One will not achieve the goal without the other. I am often asked how I accomplish running the gallery, doing the business of art, and painting. It demands great discipline and organization with time as well as resources. My motto is: I never take no as the final answer and I always ask, "Why not?" and "How can I help you make this work?"

I make art for visual excitement and cerebral stimulation which produces a spring board of infinite ideas. My paintings come from an internal place before they manifest on paper or canvas. Color is the most important element for me. A conceptual idea and/or subject expand from the palette to create the overall composition, mood, and tone. My intent is to depict the essence of a feeling that goes beyond the surface of the work. Each painting is premeditated whether consciously or subconsciously. I don’t sit in front of a blank surface waiting for inspiration, it’s already there. My work is on purpose and for a purpose.
